xgrow.ing ranks X accounts by how fast they are growing. One number decides the order, it is the same number for everyone, and nothing on the board can be bought.

Readings are taken once a day and never rewritten. Every figure the board shows is worked out from them at the moment you ask, which is why these are the numbers worth publishing.
How rank is decided
- Rank is follower growth over the last 7 days
- As a percentage, not a headcount — a large account gains more followers doing nothing than a small one gains trying. Percentage means a 400-follower account can beat a 400,000-follower one, which is the only way “fastest growing” means anything.
- A fixed window, not since you joined
- Everyone is measured over the same seven days. Counting from the day you joined would hand a permanent lead to whoever arrived first, and nobody new could ever catch up.
- Small accounts are measured against a hundred
- Percentage growth is measured against your follower count plus 100, so your own rate carries half its weight at 100 followers, 80% at 400, and above a few thousand the difference is too small to show. Without it, an account with one follower gaining one would be up 100% and top of the board, and a week could be won by anyone willing to make a new account. It never changes a sign or invents growth from none — and followers gained is never adjusted at all.
How you get on it
- Prove the handle is yours, once
- Two ways, and either is enough. Signing in with X tells us the account is yours and nothing else — nothing is posted, and the token is thrown away once it has answered. Or post from the account with your own link in it: only the account holder can post from their account, and that is the whole proof. Until then your claim is visible to you alone and appears nowhere on the board.
- Two readings before you can be ranked
- Growth is a change between measurements, so a single reading isn't one. You're measured the moment you verify, and again on the daily refresh. Zero would be a claim we have no evidence for, so you sit out rather than showing one.
What a close awards
First place is one account a week. These are six more ways to win one, chosen so that they pick out different people: gain rewards size, per post punishes volume, climber needs you to have been low, challenger excludes the larger half, improved asks only whether you got faster than you were, and debut belongs to whoever has just arrived.
Biggest gain
The most followers added. The one axis where being large helps.
Best per post
The most followers gained per post, which rewards one good post over many.
Biggest climber
The most places gained since the close before it.
Fastest challenger
The fastest growth in the smaller half of the board by follower count.
Most improved
The biggest rise in growth rate against the close before it.
Best debut
The fastest of the accounts closing for the first time.
- A figure has to be positive to win
- Nobody takes biggest gain for losing the fewest followers. In a week where the figure an award is decided on never rose, that award is simply not given.
- An award nobody has earned is withheld, not handed down
- Best per post waits until there are posts to measure. There is no biggest climber at a first close, because there is nothing yet to have climbed from. A quiet week gives out fewer awards rather than inventing a winner for one.
- Weeks, months and years all close
- A month and a year award the same axes over their own window, except that a year has no climber and no debut: over 365 days the field turns over enough that arriving is not the same thing as climbing. Every close is frozen where it stood and never recomputed, so a result cannot change after the fact.
- A trophy beside a name is a week won
- It stays on the row for as long as the account is on the board, and counts up when there is more than one. Weeks only: a month or a year is its own kind of win, and is on the winners page rather than on the row.

- Ties break by join time, so the order is never arbitrary.
- Free, and staying that way
- No account, no email, no payment. Nothing on this board can be bought.

I built xgrow.ing because I wanted to know who was actually growing on X, and every list that claimed to say was either guessing or selling the position. This one measures the same thing for everybody, every day, and shows its working.
